The purpose of the Functional Skills Mathematics Level 2 qualification is to demonstrate both mathematical skills at the appropriate level and the ability to apply mathematical thinking effectively to solve problems successfully in the workplace and in other real life situations.
There are no pre-entry requirements for this qualification and no minimum age requirement has been set for registration. Rhythmic Skills do not set any other entry requirements but colleges and other training providers may have their own guidelines.
This qualification has one external assessment divided into 2 sections.
Section A: The non-calculator section
Duration – 30 minutes
Number of marks – 15
Section B: The calculator section
Duration – 90 minutes
Number of marks – 45
