Level 3 Award in First Aid at work

The objective of this qualification is to support learners in becoming first aiders in the workplace. The content of the qualification meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for training first aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first aid needs assessment.

This qualification should enable Learners to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations. Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of first aider The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider, how to assess an incident and recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness.

This Level 3 qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a lead adult care worker role in care settings. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures. This qualification also aligns to the Apprenticeship Standard for Lead Adult Care Worker.

  • This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 or above who wish to progress onto further education or the workplace.
  • There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1, 2 qualification.
